My Sister addresses the underlying tensions between two sisters. After their recent reunion, the narrator documents her adoptive sister's birthday through various stops on the road. We slowly discover their private hang-ups and divergent paths to adulthood. On the road, the youngest, Alicia, visits various people around her: friends, parents and lovers. Along the way, bribes of the past surface, blurring the lines. Arriving at her destination, Alicia blows out her 18th birthday candles. Behind her lens, the narrator observes her sister, facing an uncertain future.
Based in Montreal, Rosalie Pelletier is an emerging filmmaker and visual artist.Originally from the Eastern Townships, the environment and the spaces surrounding her subjects are a key element to her practice. She tries to display diverse social realities through a hybrid form.
